This listing is for 8 Blue Miyuki Medaka, a beautiful Japanese rice fish variety known for its metallic blue coloration and brilliant reflective dorsal stripe.
I selectively breed this line for an exceptionally bright, well-defined back stripe. Under strong aquarium lighting or natural sunlight, the stripe can appear almost neon, creating a vivid blue-white glow that runs along the top of the fish.
This line is selected specifically for:
The reflective stripe is created by dense iridescent pigmentation along the back. In good lighting, it can look almost like a narrow strip of neon light running from the head toward the tail.
Stripe development may continue to improve as the fish mature. Lighting, diet, background color, age, and outdoor sunlight can all influence how strongly the iridescence is displayed.
Blue Miyuki are among the most popular Japanese rice fish varieties because of their brilliant metallic appearance. They are especially striking in outdoor tubs, patio ponds, mini ponds, and top-view aquariums where their reflective backs can be fully appreciated.
They are active, peaceful, hardy, and suitable for both beginning hobbyists and experienced Medaka breeders.
Medaka are best kept in groups and should be provided with clean, well-oxygenated water without excessive current.
The listing photos are intended to represent the general appearance, quality, and breeding direction of this line. You may not receive the exact individual fish pictured unless specifically stated.
The brightness of the dorsal stripe can vary depending on lighting, viewing angle, camera exposure, background, age, and environmental conditions. The neon-like effect is most visible when the fish are viewed from above under bright light.
Fish will be carefully packed for shipment. Please monitor tracking and arrange to receive the package promptly. Do not allow the box to remain outdoors in direct sunlight, freezing temperatures, or extreme heat.
DOA protection is for Next Day Air only. In the unlikely event of a loss, please contact me within 1 hour and provide two pictures: one of the unopened bag and another of the fish out of the bag.
