depending on temperature and humidity of the peat (they can eye up in as little
as 6 weeks at high temperatures). I advise checking the peat every three weeks
from the date of collection. Eggs should be incubated between 68 and 74 oF. The
fry are able to take Artermia nauplii. The fish do not tolerate a strong

Ifakara TAN 95-4. The fish eat Ken’s crumbles but will breed best given live
and frozen food. Egg incubation is 3 to 6 months and in my experience the fry
can take brine shrimp nauplii from hatching. They are not picking about water
parameters so long as extremes are avoided. A watch must be kept for velvet
disease which can quickly break out in soft, acidic water (you can add 1 heaped
teaspoon table salt per gallon as a prophylactic)...
