Xiphophorus nezahualcoyotl is a wild type swordtail from the Rio Tamasi near San Luis Potosí, Mexico. They are a smaller, husky fish that is active and will sometimes eat their own young. Coming from a mountainous region they can tolerate cooler water, I keep mine in a 10 foot by 3 foot pond type tank at 64 to 75 degrees F (depending on the season). They like moderately hard water.
