Meet Pyro
Pyro is a home-bred male Betta splendens hatched January 2026 at Backyard Roots & Aquatics. He has a striking dark black/burgundy body contrasted by vivid crimson-red fins and flashes of blue/teal iridescence along his rays and scales. He has developed broad Halfmoon finnage and displays especially beautiful coloration when fully flared.

All live animal sales are final. No returns, refunds, or exchanges.
Every fish is observed for health and condition prior to leaving Backyard Roots & Aquatics. Buyers are encouraged to inspect their fish and ask any questions before completing their purchase.
Once the fish leaves our care, the buyer assumes responsibility for transportation, proper acclimation, water quality, temperature, aquarium size and setup, compatible tankmates, feeding, and ongoing care.
Because we cannot control the conditions of the fish’s new environment after transfer, Backyard Roots & Aquatics cannot be responsible for illness, injury, stress, or loss occurring after the fish has been transferred to the buyer.
Please have an established, appropriately sized and conditioned aquarium ready before receiving your fish. Bettas should be properly acclimated to their new aquarium.
A complimentary starter portion of live duckweed is available with your betta. Please let us know if you prefer not to receive duckweed.
