Blue Brazos are small, active freshwater dwarf crayfish known for their blue to blue-gray coloration, natural patterning, and bold little personalities. They stay small, usually around 0.5"–1.5", making them a great choice for planted tanks, shrimp-style aquariums, and species-only dwarf crayfish setups.

Our Blue Brazos are American bred and aquarium raised in our indoor systems here in North Carolina. They are not imported and not wild caught.

Color varies naturally from crayfish to crayfish. Age, molt stage, lighting, diet, and substrate can all affect how blue they appear. Photos are representative of our DwarfCray.com Blue Brazos line.

Why Blue Brazos?

Blue Brazos are active bottom-dwellers that spend their time exploring, grazing, and using hides throughout the aquarium. They do best in stable freshwater tanks with plenty of cover such as moss, plants, driftwood, leaf litter, caves, rocks, or other hiding places.

They are much smaller than standard crayfish and are a fun option for keepers who want the crayfish look and behavior without keeping a large aggressive species.
