These are my Trout Goodeids (Illyodon furcidens) from my home-bred line at High Desert Aquatics in Reno, Nevada—larger Mexican livebearers with a “mini trout” look; males show bold yellow/black markings along the body and belly, while females are a bit more subdued, and adult females can push ~4" (they do best in clean, well-oxygenated water in the high 60s to low 70s). This is a selectively bred, long-established captive line developed by Greg Sage (Select Aquatics) to emphasize consistent yellow/black patterning. My fish are raised in normal Reno tap water (pH ~7.2–7.8) at typical home-aquarium temps (about 68–78°F) on quality flakes, pellets, and frozen foods—hardy “real-world” stock accustomed to seasonal swings and normal conditions, not pampered in heavily controlled systems. You’ll receive 2 young males and 2 young females (2 pairs), shipped at a size where they’re already sexable and either breeding or close to breeding; juveniles will vary slightly in coloration from the pictured parents (photos show my actual breeding stock and juveniles). Shipping is UPS 2nd Day or Overnight, shipping quote can be provided if you send me your zipcode. Fish are packed in a well-insulated box with a heat pack if needed; fish are bagged individually when possible or in pairs to reduce stress. I ship Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid weekend delays, typical transit is 2–4 days depending on location, and shipping may be delayed in extreme heat/cold for fish safety (I’ll message you with the plan after purchase). DOA policy: in the rare event of a DOA, please send clear photos of the unopened bag within 2 hours of delivery for a refund on the lost livestock. Continental US only (no AK/HI). Shipping & DOA Policy
All fish, shrimp and snails are shipped via USP 2nd Day. Price ranges from $20-30 typically. I can upgrade to UPS Overnight as well. Both options ship in a well-insulated box with a heat pack if needed. Fish are bagged individually when possible, or in small groups of two, to reduce stress and limit potential losses. In the rare event of a DOA (dead on arrival), please send clear photos of the unopened bag within two hours of delivery for a refund on the lost livestock. Please let me know if there are any issues as soon as possible and I will do my best to make things right.
Shipping days are Monday and Tuesday to reduce the chance of fish being stuck in transit over a weekend. Depending on your location, transit times are usually 2–4 days. If the weather is too hot or too cold, shipping may be delayed for the safety of the fish. I will reach out with an expected shipping plan after purchase. Shipping is available to the continental US only (no Alaska or Hawaii, sorry!).
