The pods will gradually lower ph and soften water all along providing a constant food source for your shrimp, snails, plecos etc. The pods also have antibacterial properties and are beneficial to low ph loving fish. They are great for Betta tanks as well.
The pods also create a hiding spot for shrimp when molting.
The pods can also be used with Indian Almond leaves and driftwood to create a biotope with tannin stained water to trigger spawning.
The pods are long lasting, I have had some in my tanks for 9+ months.
You can even attach moss to them or Anubias to add a natural look.
(Tip) I boil like 5 at a time and set them aside, this way I always have a constant supply to swap out ones from my tanks.
They will float in you tank until fully waterlogged then they will sink.
