This is a listing for a young adult, very large (~1 foot/12 inches in length) Lince Catfish (Platynematichthys notatus)! They are an incredibly cool and larger-growing asian catfish that you don’t see in the hobby very often. The distinct spots really make these guys pop in any monster tank and I have absolutely loved keeping this guy for as long as I have. I’ve had him for about a year/year and a half or so now (got him when he was just a little guy, a few inches long) and while I absolutely adore him I don’t have the means to keep him to his full size. This species maxes out at about 30 inches in length and so a large pond or monster tank is really what he’ll need to live out his life, which I don’t have room for right now.
He’s done very well and has been raised in just my tap water which is a ph of 7.6, a temp of about 79 and a TDS ~250. He’ll eat anything he can get in his mouth really so he cannot be kept with smaller fish or fish even about a third to a half of his size or he will try and eat them. I’ve been feeding him frozen shrimp, tilapia, and silversides but he steals bloodworms from the other fish as well.
This species at this size is a bit delicate for shipping so I will only be sending him via overnight shipping, in thick double-bags with oxygen and ammonia blocker and heat packs if necessary. DOA guarantee as long as pictures of him in his original unopened packaging showing him DOA, as well as pictures of him out of the bag on a flat surface are taken within 1 HOUR of the first delivery attempt. Shipping is a flat $80.
