This is a juvenile pair of Rachovia Fransvermeuleni CI-2025 Puerto Carreno. This is an F1 pair. It is a lively and friendly fish with a serious appetite. It can be spawned as a plower or a diver and has an incubation period of 2 to 7 months depending on various factors such as incubation temperature. I have not found them to be too hard on females and well suited to being kept as pair if adequate food is provided to allow the female to eat her fill. In some lights they display a checkerboard pattern while in others their body shines in a full iridescent rainbow which is not easy to capture in a photo.
