Apistogramma wilhelmi (commonly called Apistogramma sp. "Abacaxis") is a rare, vividly colored dwarf cichlid from the Rio Abacaxis in Brazil, characterized by a striking purple-to-red facial patch on the gill plates, a broad longitudinal body stripe, and a size reaching up to 8 cm (3 inches).
