Black Knight Ram Pair  – 1” Minimum

Beautiful true Black Knight Rams shipped from San Diego. These subadults measure at least 1 inch head-to-tail.

Black Knight Rams are a striking dwarf cichlid with a moderate temperament, making them suitable for aquarists of all experience levels. They thrive both in species only tanks and peaceful tropical community setups.

True Full-Black Lineage (Not Mixed)

These are double black / double dark / full black rams and have NOT been crossed with German Blue Rams.

 Size & Growth

• Shipped as subadult

• Will roughly double in weight as they mature

• Adult size: 2”–2.5”

My photos are of my stock of rams, not the parents. The fish you receive may be younger then the photos, and may have a lighter belly, this is normal for their age, and will darken as they grow older.

• I ship only on Monday to avoid weekend delays (If you have a special request let me know and I should be able to accommodate)

• Order by Sunday morning for Monday shipment, otherwise it will be delayed to the following week.

• Estimated arrival: Tuesday–Thursday depending on selected shipping method 

• eBay estimates are inaccurate, they will say the estimated arrival is much longer, this is to account for any delays by buyer request or weather. Initial tracking time estimates are sometimes also incorrect, please wait a few hours after drop off for them to update. If there are any issues please do not hesitate to reach out.

Fish are packed in an insulated box with heat pack when needed, using oxygen-filled fish bags

When receiving your fish please open the box in a dimly lit room so they may adjust to the light. I recommend a slow drip acclimation and if possible add a air to bubbler to their container while acclimating to ensure the water is properly oxygenated, my water is extremely soft; please if you have hard water be extra careful to slowly acclimate them.

Shipments may be delayed due to postal holidays or extreme weather to ensure safe arrival.

Recommended Tank Parameters

• Temperature: 76–82°F

• pH: 6.5–7.5

• Hardness: dGH 3–8 (soft)

• Nitrate: < 20 ppm

• Ammonia/Nitrite: 0

These rams adapt well to most dechlorinated U.S. tap water when properly acclimated. I recommend drip acclimating over at least an hour if your hardness or pH are significantly different then mine.

Parameters fish were raised in:

• Temp: 79°F

• pH: 6.5

• TDS: 150 ppm

• dGH: 3

I have also bred these rams successfully in hard water (TDS ~400), if you have hard water please be especially careful in slowly acclimating them.

Diet

I feed daily with a varied diet of:

• Quality flakes

• Bloodworms

• Brine shrimp

• GP Advanced Pellets

Tank Mates

I have successfully kept them in a community tank with:

• Angelfish

• Discus

• Various tetras

• Bristle nose plecos

• German Blue Rams

Rams are generally peaceful with each other, however, they will fights amongst themselves especially if they are in pairs.
