This listing is for 1 Colocasia Black Magic Starter pond plant. The plant will be approx. 3 to 5 inches, and shipped bare root(no pot, no soil). Photos are to show what mature plants look like, the one being offered is a small starter plant as stated above.
Colocasia Black Magic is an Elephant Ear plant that grows 3 to 5 ft tall when mature, with rather large leaves on older specimens. The leaves are a flat purple that deepens according to the amount of sunlight they get, often times looking flat black, adding interest to your bog, water garden, or ornamental pond. The leaves are not glossy at all on this Elephant Ear. This Colocasia is somewhat aggressive, spreading by runners, but not as vigorously as the common green variety. Great for medium to large ponds and especially bog filters, where the roots will absorb and trap debris in the water. Makes a great statement plant when mature, and can provide shade to the pond as well. This plant will be shipped bare root, making it perfect for placing in your water feature. For best results soak the roots in water for 30 minutes to an hour after arrival in a shaded spot, then plant as desired. Keep moist at all times, it does not like to dry out in the active growing season. Feel free to ask any questions before bidding/ buying.
