Blackfin Pearl [20+ eggs] Austrolebias Nigripinnis

Long considered one of the most sought after of all South American annual killifish.

Handcounted 20+ viable eggs of Austrolebias nigripinnis, the Blackfin Pearl, from our personally collected fish.

The name nigripinnis means "black fin" in Latin, for the inky fins that frame the male's midnight blue body and its scattered rows of living pearls.

Incubation: Annual species. Eggs travel and store on damp peat moss. Keep them warm at around 70º. Many are ready to wet in as little as 2 to 4 weeks, though each egg develops on its own clock. Once you can see fully formed eyes through the shell, wet the peat with cool, soft water to trigger hatching. Our fish room water runs a TDS of about 100.

A note on your eggs: you are getting a generous handcount. We list 20+, but we always tuck in extra, because eggs are delicate and we would rather you end up with more than you paid for.
