Descrizione
These fish were imported out of south Brazil and collected in the Rio Uruguay river. The region is sub tropic and from talks with fisherman and exporters temps do dip into the 50 degree range for short times of the year. Yay no need for heaters ! They are about 2-3" in size. I am struggling to see any signs of sexual dimorphism so sold unsexed. This fish has been represented as a few fish to me covering 2 different genus. It is possible that is a hemiancistrus species (hemiancistrus fuliginosus is what comes to mind). They are undemanding and munching on all sorts of pellet and frozen food. This group is for 3 fish and I have more I can add more. These are rare fish for the hobby and will likely remain so. The area of import is almost never imported from. Argentina almost never sends fish out and mostly to asia. Paraguay same. Uruguay does not export and you must travel down in hopes of catching them. South Brazil is possible but its the farthest part from the usa so shipping is expensive and species list are limited. Rare chance for the adventurous pleco breeder!
