I received my breeder fish from Hans Evers from Germany who collected the fish at the Ayamaru plateau from the Vogelkop Peninsula in West Papua in February 2020. Hans refers to the fish as the black throated harlequin rainbow fish and reports that this location stays at 8cm (slightly larger than 3 inches).
