8 juvenile Melanotaenia ajamaruensis

You are bidding on 8 juvenile Melanotaenia ajamaruensis fish that are tank bred/raised by me and are at the age of 6-7 months and about 1.5” in size. They look like M. boesemani but are a separate species. You can distinguish them by counting the number of soft rays on the second dorsal and anal fins.
Second Dorsal Fin: M. boesemani usually has 12–13 rays, while M. ajamaruensis has more, typically 15–17.
Anal Fin: M. boesemani usually has 18–21 rays, whereas M. ajamaruensis has 22–24. I cannot sex the juveniles with certainty yet, thus I am selling groups of 8 fish to increase your chances of getting both genders, so you can breed the fish. I received my breeders from Jeffrey Christian in Indonesia. The photo shows two adult males.
