For sale are 8 unsexed juvenile Glossolepis maculosus: a very rare rainbow fish that was initially collected by Barry Crockford in a small tributary of the Oomsis River in northern Papua New Guinea in 1979, and later by Gerry Allen who brought the fish to Australia (for more information visit https://rainbowfish.angfaqld.org.au/Maculosus.htm). Heiko Bleher collected them from the Ramu River later and introduced them to Europe. One year ago, Lucas Bretz was the only keeper of the species left in the USA and Europe and was able to propagate and send young fish to me. Recent genetic data suggests the fish should be placed in the genus Melanotaenia.
