You will not have to look for the worms in this starter.
The micro worm (Panagrellus redivivus) is the larger of the three nematodes commonly used in the hobby as first and second live foods. It is on a par with newly hatched baby brine shrimp in terms of vital nutrients and protein, but is much easier to culture and maintain. The ropes on the lid of the culture shown below are composed of micro worms waiting to be wiped off with a fingertip or Q-Tip and swished into a tank of hungry fry or nano fish.
These nematode worms thrive in a simple culture medium of oatmeal or mashed potato flakes. Room temperature works well. If you are comfortable, the worms will be too. Colder slows them down, and warmer speeds up culture life cycle. Within a couple days of starting your cultures with this large starter portion the surface of your cultures will shimmer with worms. With minimal care there will ALWAYS be enough worms on hand for all the fry you can produce. The white areas on the sides of the culture below are many thousands of nematode worms.
Complete instructions for culturing these worms, and more information about them, are available on my website: https://fishguysplace.com/livefood.html#4nem
