Description

SNE 250+ Live Organic Mealworms, " to 1", Free Ship

Mealworms are a highly nutritious form of live food, especially valued for feeding any medium to large carnivore aquarium fishes 4" or larger (Cichlids, Koi, Barbs, and large Tetra, Killifish, Catfish, Puffers, etc.). Dempsey, Flag Fish and Archers are particularly fond of them. Many marine fish and invertebrates such as crabs will feed on mealworms also. They have been shown to aid in the breeding of Cichlids. My boys have used them to catch Trout, Blue Gills, Crappie, Bream, Perch and Bass, when fishing the local waters.

My mealworm's outer skin (chitin) is easy to digest; it is soft and does not visibly come out the other end. These mealies do not bite, and can be fed whole and live to your fish, or broken into smaller pieces for smaller fish. The mealworms are rich in protein, calcium, vitamins A and B and can be maintained in a dormant condition in the refrigerator for several months. These are clean and not fatty, unless your bedding is made mostly from corn. They can be gut-loaded with any dry fish foods; flakes, powder or small granules.

These mealworms were raised on equal parts organic; Wheat bran, Oat Bran and Grits or Corn Meal. To the bedding mix I add a large portion of non-fat dry milk for calcium. Then I add equal, but smaller portions of; dried ground organic Dandelion leaves, ground dry cat food (for protein), Spirulina powder and fish color flakes or ground dried crab food. For moisture, the worms always have fresh organic baby carrots and potato; this also provides beta carotene and potassium.

Mealworm Care: Place the container in the refrigerator unless you plan to breed your mealworms. Further instructions for care or breeding may be found via internet search. Place a baby carrot or small pieces of potato on top of the bedding for moisture, and change it daily. Because they are inactive in the fridge, remove them once a week for 12 hours to allow them to warm up and eat. Your mealworm container will need minimal cleaning. Sift the substrate every couple weeks to remove any dead mealworms, waste, and shed exoskeletons, and change the bedding when damp.

You will be provided with the Priority mail tracking number. Even though these mealworms will be shipped in an insulated container, please do not leave the worms out in the heat or cold. Shipping may be delayed if either shipping or receiving zip codes are having temperatures below 35 or above 85. A 72-hour heat pack can be added for an additional $2.00, upon request. Payment is only via PayPal. I take great pride in the packing and handling of livestock I have so carefully raised. Live arrival of the base auction count is always guaranteed; please contact me within 2 hours of first delivery attempt if there are any problems. Additional mealworms may be added to the auction upon request, at $5.00 per 250, if I have the supply. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, preferably before bidding. Happy bidding and good luck.

Priority Mail is FREE. Live Arrival Guarantee. Payment is via PayPal.
