Shipping
I only ship to the Continental United States (Lower 48 states). All live orders are shipped via USPS Priority, unless the auction states differently, or arrangements are made for Express. Heat/cold packs will be automatically added to live orders as needed. All livestock will be shipped in a Styrofoam lined box, with breather bags (except adult Plecos that will be in doubled 3 mil bags) and all cartons containing water will have a 5-sided, open-top poly liner to contain any dribbles. Packing material for additional, (yet livestock safe) insulation, cushioning and absorbency will be added as needed (no fiberglass). Regular fish bags contain lots of air, breather bags do not. Do not float breather bags to acclimate your livestock, they will suffocate. A drip acclimation instruction sheet will be provided with your pets that use water-filled breather bags. Typically, the shipping cost of USPS Priority fish shipments will be $22, while Express shipments will be $55. Shipping will be $27 for Priority or $60 for Express for the cost of shipping your fish auction plus add-ons (unless your auction states otherwise). Priority Mail will be the chosen method of shipping, unless you explicitly request and purchase the additional for Express. I prefer to ship orders Tuesday following payment clearance. The actual day chosen by me may be holiday or weather dependent on either or both sending and receiving zip codes. There will be no shipping on Saturday and Monday when the Postal Service observes Monday holidays. WARNING: I keep all packing materials sealed in plastic, but smoke-free isn't easy with a big-time smoker in the house. If you have severe allergies or asthma, you may not want to bid on my auctions.
Dead on Arrival Policy
I guarantee all livestock shipped by USPS Priority or Express mail that arrive within 4 days of shipping. LAG applies to all shipments made to your PayPal shipping address in the lower 48 states and does not include any third-party shipments. Check your zip code against mine (23803) to determine your best shipping method. I take great pride in the packing and handling of living creatures I have so carefully raised and they all should be able to sustain for the duration of the trip. Delays and rough handling by postal carriers will be delt with on a case-by-case basis, in all fairness to you the customer. If an order has dead livestock in the order, take a digital picture within two hours of receiving the order. Pictures should be taken with the shipping bag the animal was received in. Pictures taken in your own aquarium will not be accepted. Once livestock is inside your aquarium, my guarantee ends. If the picture is not clear enough to determine quantity, or to insure the livestock is actually dead, it will not be accepted. Fish must be received on first delivery attempt and any pictures of DOA's must be emailed to me within 2 hours of delivery, to be considered for DOA guarantee. I will usually provide extras with live auctions to cover minor losses, (excluding breeder Plecos and Zebra Plecos) where a PayPal refund will be issued and pro-rated per DOA loss, less shipping cost. Please only contact me for DOA guarantee if there were more losses than supplied free extras upon original delivery. In the event of 3 or more DOA's, assuming all obligations detailed above are met, I will replace or refund for the expired ones, (minus the free ones), but will require the buyer to pay for replacement shipping costs. This DOA guarantee ends once the livestock is inside your tank. In the event of DOA, a PayPal credit will be issued to the buyer for an amount equal to the livestock lost, less shipping cost and freebies. You may also use the auction's link to contact me via email: (Ask Seller a Question). PayPal will email your shipping confirmation and tracking number when I purchase your shipping label. At this time, I only accept PayPal and I request payment within 2 days of auction closing. Upon request, for order subtotals below $70, I will also accept a money order, only if purchased from the Post Office. I will NOT EVER accept: eChecks, personal checks or CODs. Orders must be paid via a verified PayPal account and I will only ship those orders to your confirmed PayPal address. The use of registered PayPal accounts and the use of your PayPal confirmed shipping address for shipping ensures eligibility for buyer and seller protection from PayPal. Please make sure your shipping address is correct with PayPal. If you won't have the money to pay your bid plus shipping at the end of the auction, please do not bid at this time (to be fair to all bidders). I run auctions and provide shipments during the months of March thru June and September to Thanksgiving. From December to March and June to September my livestock is/are breeding and the babies are growing and gaining strength plus good health for the upcoming Spring or Fall auctions and shipments.
