Electric Blue Jack Dempsey Breeder
Many of you may have bought Electric Blue Jack Dempsey from me in the past . My strain/line was developed pretty much from the beginning of breeding EBJD.This line has been very strong now for many years but I took an unexpected break from breeding and selling them due to an accident. Randy Sorrenson, AKA ORMED, was certainly one of if not the first non commercial hobbyist to breed them successfully.Forced to sell his stock he sold two breeding pairs on Aquabid eleven years ago I think. One pair disappeared from production and the other went to Hollywood. Arnold in Washington. I got Randy's last fry from his number one male and a blue gene aunt of number two male and a blue gene female or two. That is how I satrted the line . A year later I released a bunch of blue gene's onto the market which caused quit a stir.
A little HIstory
My first fish keeping started at age 5. I wandered into a neighbors fish room behind his garage. He was breeding guppies, black molly, angels etc. I was hooked.Year was 1952 ..In and out of fish keeping over the decades but more time and resources made it possible to pursue the EBJD breeding possible. Many of the fish that have been offered were the result of my releasing several hundred Blue Gene Jack Dempsey into the market. To that point nobody would sell them. Some people were mad but it was the best thing to do to promote EBJD and strengthen the gene pool. I sold blue gene orginaly to a San Francisco Fish keeper and sent some to Richard Brice AKA Tarmack. He used them in his breeding many years ago,as have many others.
