Welcome to my 55g Planted Tank

What I sell - Awesome Clippings
Hi, and welcome to my tank page. I sell beautiful clippings from my thriving 55g high-tech tank when it needs trimming. I no longer sell my out of control salvinia minima because I got sick of it blocking needed light and decided to throw what was left after auction away. I will probably soon start selling my awesome Christmas Moss, since it's out of control. I included some in my last assortment auction. Check out my feedback, customers love my auctions and you will too!

About my setups
I've been keeping fish for about 12 years, mostly chichlid's, since that was what my parents' water lent itself to (but many community fish as well). It was always a dream of mine to accomplish a thriving planted tank. So I graduated college, got married and set out to achieve this goal in our townhouse. I ended up creating a 55g high tech planted tank with many custom additions that I built like the canopy.

Currently it is lit by 2 dualstrip shoplight's housing 4x32w t8 bulbs with electronic ballasts - 2x55k full spectrum GE and 2x65k GE for 10hours per day. However I just upgraded to an AHSupply retrokit and built a custom wooden enclosure to house the 2x55/65w CF bulbs (2 GE 55w 9235k fresh and saltwater bulbs). So one of these dualstrips is getting replaced. It's fed pressurized co2 at about 3-5 bubbles a sec. Fertilization is 1/2tsp of potassium and 10ml of trace elements every other day (trace is every day). The ferts are bulk from aquariumfertilizer.com. Water is acidic 6.6-7.0 with a medium hardness of kh8 and gh12-14. Temp is 78-80.

The tank is flourishing and thriving and generally doing awesome with very little maintenance with the exception of trimming and a 50% water change every Sunday to reset the tank and the estimative index way of fertilizing. The fish and Plants look incredible as you can see from the pics. I also have a low-tech, low-maintenance tank that is 10g and is currently having some algae issues.
