What you are getting:
The winner of this auction will receive the 6 swordtails in the YouTube video below + 6 younger juveniles not shown in the video! The swordtails in the video are all 1+ inches long. In the video you will see 3 Hi-Fin Ruby Reds, 1 Red Alpha Black Body short-fin, 1 standard Red Alpha short-fin, and 1 Red Alpha Black Body Hi-fin! The ruby red hi-fin swordtail with the swordtail is obviously a male, but I am selling the other swordtails as unsexed.

The other 6 swordtails not in the video are smaller at around 3/4 inches long. For the six 3/4 inch swordtails, I will give you 3 ruby reds and 3 that will either turn out to be red alpha black body or red alpha. At this size it is hard for me to tell if they will be hi-fin or short-fin in the future, but between the larger 6 and these 6 you will have a good batch of 12 swordtails to work with.

If you are not familiar with the standard Red Alpha, it is made by crossing a Ruby Red swordtail (typically male) with a Red Alpha swordtail (typically female). The fry end up being approximately 50% Ruby Red and 50% Red Alpha. The Ruby Red is all red and the Red alpha typically has red on the outer edges of its body as well as its fins and its main body is black.

The Red Alpha Black Body or Red Alpha BB has red on its fins and mouth only and the rest of the body is typically all black, which is a cool contrast. In order to acquire the Red Alpha BB, I bred a Red Alpha male with a Red Alpha female, and I had fry that was regular Red Alpha, a Red Alpha BB, and a few Ruby Red.

In order to acquire the hi-fin trait on the Ruby Red, I bred a male RREA hi-fin with a female Red Alpha Black Body female. The Ruby Red offspring looks like a Ruby and not an RREA. My plan for the future is to continue working on the Ruby Red Hi-fin line by crossing the Ruby Red hi-fin with my standard Ruby Red short-fin, working to make a darker red hi-fin ruby red. Please note that this is a one-time auction as I cannot replace these swordtails.
