Description

Aspidoras fuscoguttatus are a great species of fish to work with. These are a long slender catfish belong to the Corydoradinae sub-family of the Callichthyidae family. We were introduced this fish by Joe Doyle of the GPASI aquarium club. Joe bought his A. fuscoguttatus from well known corydoras breeder Rob McLure of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Aspidoras are active fish that love to swim in groups. The fish offered in this auction are approx 1 1/4"+ long. These breed in typical corydoras fashion and they like to deposit the eggs in a high flow area. We feed all of our corydoras types meaty frozen foods such as frozen brine shrimp or frozen bloodworms. These fish prefer to be kept with a sand bottom in the tank, if kept on gravel their mouth may get damaged. We are proud to be able to offer these fish from our Family Run Fish Hatchery. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DELAY SHIPPING IF NIGHT TIME TEMPS ARE TOO LOW OR DAYTIME TEMPS ARE TOO HIGH TO SAFELY SHIP YOUR FISH. The winner of this auction may buy additional fish at the cost of the per fish winning bid. All the fish we sell are bred by us in our Family Run Fish Hatchery. With over 40 years of experience keeping and breeding aquarium fish we feel that we can offer you quality fish at a fair price. Since we do not import fish to sell you do not have to worry about getting stressed fish that have traveled many days and have made multiple stops before reaching your aquarium. Since we are dealing with live animals we like to ship the fastest way possible. USPS (US Postal) Express is 1 day to most places but some out laying areas it may be a 2 day delivery. We also like using FedEx Overnight delivery but this can be a little more expensive. An advantage with USPS is that they offer a Hold For Pick Up option which means they will inside the post office rather than riding on the delivery truck all day. If you live close enough to our hatchery in Akron, Ohio we can ship to you using FedEx Ground and the fish arrive in 1 day, this takes in most of Ohio and parts of some surrounding states. We will NOT ship these fish via USPS Priority because it can too long and it is not as reliable. Please think about what you are buying and why would you want to risk these fish with Priority mail. We offer a Live Delivery Guarantee as long as the fish arrive in 1 day, are one time and there is someone home to accept them on the first delivery attempt. If you use the Hold For Pickup option then you must pick up the fish within 2 hours of when they are available. In the event of a DOA you must email us a picture of the dead fish in our unopened bag within 2 hours of delivery. Time of delivery is verified by USPS as to when it was dropped off to your house. Once the bag has been opened the guarantee is void. The guarantee does not cover any portion of the shipping cost. If there is a DOA claim then the value of the dead fish is issued as a credit to be used on your next order, we do not refund debit/credit cards or PayPal. Due to the cost of shipping supplies we require a $20.00 minimum order. Most of our fish are packed well enough for 2-3 day shipping so if there is a delay we do not expect a problem. If you live close enough to our hatchery you can stop and pick up your fish in person, this is by appointment only. We also travel to most of fish clubs auctions and swaps in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania and we may be able to meet you there with your fish. You may buy additional fish to defray the cost of shipping and you may combine any of our auctions to save shipping costs. You may have fish friends in your area that you may be able to split orders with. We pack all our fish in double and triple layer bags as needed, we use oxygen on most of our fish and oxygen enriched air on our Corydoras and Loricariid type catfish. We provide Styrofoam lined boxes and use heat packs as the weather indicates at no additional cost to you. Our fish are packed very well and are made to travel cross country with no issues. You can email us at: fatfish@neo.rr.com with your zip code to get a shipping quote or if you have any other questions, we ask that you do this BEFORE YOU PLACE YOUR BID. Payment should be made no later than 4 days after the close of the auction. We accept PayPal as well as debit/credit cards. If paying by debit/credit card there will be an additional 4% fee , this fee is based on the final price (fish + shipping). Once the auction is closed and the shipping cost has been established we will send you a PayPal invoice and you can pay from that. Please make sure the address you have listed with PayPal is correct because that is the address we will be shipping to. We like to ship on Mondays and Tuesdays in case the shipment gets delayed, we do not want it delayed into a weekend. Once we receive your payment we will set up a shipping day. We fast your fish for 3 days to cut down on the waste in the shipping water. Generally, if you pay by Thursday or Friday we will ship the first part of the following week. Again, all our fish are raised in our Family Run Fish Hatchery and we are sure you will be as proud of them as we are.
