Description

Two Float Switches For DIY Sump

Two Float Switches For DIY Sump Controllers - Auto Top Off Pump Control

Offered here are two float switches for the do-it-yourselfer who has a basic knowledge of electricity / electronics sufficient to put together his or her own level control system for a sump or auto top off system.

They are not rated for high current such as needed to directly control a pump or motor, but will carry sufficient current for the control / triggering end of things. In any event, one should NEVER run actual load currents and voltages through the sensor element in a tank as this is extremely dangerous. These switches should be used to carry a very small fused current at a very low DC or AC voltage which will be used to trigger a Triac or solid state relay to switch the actual load on and off.

They are physically about 3" long and have holes that can be used to mount them to a supporting member such as a length of PVC or plexiglass. They can be mounted wire up or wire down to provide normally open or normally closed operation to sense water level and operate the load.

If you do not understand the tech speak above, it is probably not a good idea to try and build your own controller, but if you are a techno-geek as well as a fish-geek then these switches will work well for you as they are simple and sturdy. I'm selling them in pairs in case you want to use two in series to provide for fail safe operation.

First Class Mail Shipping with delivery confirmation is $3.50

Thanks!
