Description

Aquaculture Metallic green star polyps #17 (WYSIWYG)(SMALL). The colony is 2 inches big on a sea shell. Fully covered and is the brightest neon green star polyps out there. picture taken under power compact actinic blue 65 watts. Pachiclavularia sp. They're many different kind of star polyps corals in the pachiclavularia family. some come in different shade of colors. from brown, light pink, light neon green and deep neon green also known as metallic green star polyps. some also come with no white center to a light white, yellow and to even a pure white center. they all have eight tentacles with a pink encrusting base and stems as big as one inch. in captivity the green star polyps will have a stem just under half of an inch and is consider to be an adult size. in the wild the star polyps colony, being so big can have stems as big as one inch. a very large colony will reproduce by releasing eggs and sperm into the ocean and also will reproduce by spreading its encrusting pink base onto rocks and any kind of calcareous subtrate to even sea shells. the spreading of the pink encrusting is very common in the home aquarium. for a mother colony to start maturing and releasing eggs and sperm, it would have to be as big as five feet in size, undisturbed and until it reaches the one inch stem it is then consider a true mother colony. picture taken under actinic true blue T5's. these are adult size polyps averaging 12-14mm stems and covers almost the shell. it grows pretty fast and easy to maintain as an adult size. they are on sea shell because it is an easy and effective way of eliminating any unwanted parasites. prefers medium to high lighting with a steady temperature between 76-84 degrees F. and a specific gravity around 1.023 does very well during shipping transition. shipping will express mail service for $24.95 live arrival guaranteed and stay alive for 30 days. will include heat packs and styrofoam box. free express mail service when you purchase $89 or more on my reef inverts, corals and plants.
