This sale includes one handmade Planaria (Flatworm) trap. I have found this trap to be the safest and most effective way of removing Planaria from shrimp tanks. Planaria will appear in your tank if you are overfeeding or not removing the shrimp food after 2-3 hours. Always practice safe feeding habits and do not overfeed your tanks. Planaria are non-parisitic flatworms, these flatworms will attack and kill your shrimp. I am sure if you are reading this that you have already read online from various sites about using canine dewormers such as Panacur and Safe Guard with the active ingredient Fenbendazole in tiny portions to treat your tank and aid in the killing of Planaria. I personally do not like to add anything to my tanks. There are also shirmp safe additives to kill or prevent Planaria, beware of these as sudden death of any volume will cause an ammonia spike and cause more harm then the initial problem. This handmade Planaria trap is the most effective way (other then not to overfeed) of removing the Planaria without harming shrimp, fish, fish eggs or plants. Planaria are carnivores. I bait the trap with a small piece of lunch meat, I have used chicken, turkey or ham. I used turkey in the photos. The trap has vinyl caps on each end which make it easy to load and more importantly easy to clean. The caps have one opening on each end that gets narrower as the Planaria enter, making it very hard for them to find a way out.>
