Description

Auction is for one Echinodorus ' Red Diamond .'

Echinodorus 'Red Diamond' was originally bred in the Ukraine and is likely a cross between Echinodorus horemanni 'Red' and Echinodorus x barthii. The resultant hybrid is an attractive, relatively small plant with ruby-red sword-shaped leaves, 6-10" long.The new leaves are the richest red and gradually turn rich coffee to green as they mature. the leaves also have a nice ripple along the edges.

It has taken us awhile to get these going and be able to offer them

Unlike many other sword plants, Echinodorus 'Red Diamond' remains moderate in size (8-12"), so it is extremely well suited as a solitary plant, even in Med-small aquariums. Increasing the iron in the substrate leads to more abundant growth, while favorable light promotes the ruby-red leaves.
