Most problems are caused by temperature extremes, both hot and cold. The seller cannot make the package arrive on a certain day. Priority Mail doesn't have a guaranteed delivery date, it usually takes 2 or 3 days to arrive but may take longer. � Mini Bolbitis Use Buy it Now (Before a bid is placed) and get an additional rhizome FREE! This is a dwarf form of Bolbitis with a leaf form just like Bolbitis heudelotti and I believe it is B. heudelotti 'Small Form'. From the rhizome to leaf tip averages only 2" to 3" on typical growth up to a maximum of about 4". I have read that it can reach 6" but that has not been my experience, maybe they mean high tech. The fern-like leaf form is lovely but the vivid green when light shines through the translucent leaves is what makes this plant a favorite of mine. You are bidding on the three rhizomes shown below, the first photo is the three auction rhizomes together and the next three pics are the rhizomes individually. All have actively growing tips. Fifth picture is a mature clump. � � This is a nano plant. The largest of these three rhizomes (2nd photo above) is unusually large, as big as it gets, and the other two are on the large size of normal. New growth is likely to be smaller, at least until the plant is fully established. If you are looking for a bold plant for your 55G tank, this probably isn't for you. If you want to encourage relatively big leaves (3" - 4") or to fill in more area, leave a generous space between the rhizomes so it will have room to grow. Give it low to medium lighting, good water circulation and optionally fertilize lightly. If you want it to stay really compact just place them very close together and the crowding and competition will keep it very small, it can grow to be only 1/2 the size of what you will be getting. But you have hard water. You did your research and everything says it needs soft water. The only thing I have noticed it needs is water movement but I don't have hard water. A recent customer with hard water gave this plant a try and kindly wrote to say her plants were doing quite well with "Lots of new growth on all of the pieces." in only 10 days. Thank you Melanie for the update. � :) � Honestly, I think the soft water requirement is just one of those things people read and repeat. Once established this plant is easy and I was pleasantly surprised that it had a reasonable growth rate with light ferts. And unlike regular B. heudelotti, it STAYS VERY COMPACT! It doesn't take years to spread and fill in. It has grown best for me with good water movement so avoid stagnant corners. This is not what is being offered on ebay by the Asian sellers which has more finely divided leaves and growth slower than plate techtonics (Bolbitis heteroclita cuspidata? Bolbitis heteroclita difformis?). I feel this is a much more graceful plant than those which remind me of carrot or parsley leaves.
