Description

Auction is for one Limnobium spongia, American frogbit. American frogbit is a MUCH larger version of Amazon frogbit. Large, mature plants will root themselves into the substrate but remain sitting right on the water surface. IF they become densely packed, they will rise above the water, but this rarely happens. It is a much larger plant than Amazon frogbit ! Most of the plants I have on hand now run about 8-10 inches though only the leaf upper surface remains above the water. These propagate readily by sending off shoots. They also have a small bloom similar to snowflake but it is not astounding. The plant itself is the interest and adds a nice touch to any pond. And, YES, small to medium frogs will hang out on top of a leaf!
