Auction is for one Water Poppy plant, Hydrocleys nymphoides. The Water Poppy is of nature's prettiest floating plants. With its dark green, heart-shaped leaves and abundant scattering of yellow flowers, Water Poppy adds a carpet of foliage and visual depth to any pond's edge. Native to tropical climates, the Water Poppy is a fairly fast growing plant that develops thick, shiny leaves approximately 2" to 4" wide along long, trailing stems. It has almost cup-shaped flowers with a contrasting red and brown center that stretch 2 to 2-1/2" above the water's surface. The flowers bloom between June and August, though the plant thrives year-round in warmer climates.
The Water Poppy prefers rich soil in shallow waters of 6" or less, though most plants survive in water up to 12" deep. This plant can benefit from over-wintering indoors in a shallow tub with good light, as it is susceptible to even brief frost exposure.though the stems will remain and regrow in the spring as long as they are not frozen at all. Zones 8 to 11.
shipping is a flat rate of $7.20 for this . This is one bare root plant but the establish quickly and easily.
