A must-have in your aquarium! Java Moss is one of the most and EASY versatile aquatic plants. You can use it to decorate your tank in whatever way you prefer except that this plant is a moss that grows on the surface of rock and should not be buried in the substrate.
Java moss looks best as an inch-thick growth on your wood. Some people let it grow to make a Moss-Wall as a strikingly beautiful background. Breeders use it for fish fry hiding place or perching medium for shrimps.
If you want to colonize a rock or piece of wood, lash your moss to your decor item with fishing line or rubber bands. You can also staple it to your wood.
It is VERY EASY to grow. If you want faster growth, fluff up your moss to let more light get to it. But it grows well under low light and that's why many killifish keepers use it as egg-laying sites.
