Description

This moss is extremely rare and I have only seen it twice in the last 10 years. I've been growing quite a bit of it in the last year and I am ready to sell it now. For sale is a nice big handful starter portion, not just "golf ball" size like some portions others sell here. (Keep in mind that you can squeeze any amount of moss into a tiny golf ball size if you try, so please don't come back to me and say that you got only a golf ball size portion. Use the picture at the bottom of this auction to see how much a "handful" in its *original* non-squeezed state is. That's the portion you are getting).

The giant moss grows in very long strands, hence the name. It feels a lot more course and robust than java moss and does not collapse and get squeezed together as easily. It grows under all kinds of conditions, temperatures of 50F to 88F degrees, hard, soft, acid or alkaline water. It's the most awesome moss I have ever had in my tanks. Most of the time it grows straight up, with side strands, but it can grow much bushier with higher water flow.

You will NOT be getting dead moss...all the moss I will be sending you has been hand selected for quality!

One of my moss buyers recently wrote to me that he has "seen" this moss at local club auctions before and that *he* thinks that it's not all that rare. Well, I can't really help it if people can't tell various moss species apart. This moss is *definitely* not java moss. If you have received this moss before from someone as "java moss", then you can count yourself lucky, because that seller had no idea what he was selling. People tend to call any moss they can't identify "java moss" or just "moss." Rest assured that this moss is very rare and *not* java moss. Anyone who has real java moss at home can tell the difference without much difficulty if he/she informs himself/herself just a little bit on the internet.

You can check my feedback to see that the rest of my moss buyers are quite happy about having gotten such an unusual and rare moss.

Shipping will be $6.00 via Priority Mail. I can combine shipping for two moss portions for an additional $2.00 shipping (in addition to the cost of the additional portion of course). For three or more items, please contact me for a shipping quote. If you purchase any of my Daphnia/Moina auctions and the moss, then you pay the shipping for the Daphnia/Moina plus $3 shipping for the moss. So, check out my other auctions and see if you are interested in anything. I accept PayPal and credit cards only. Happy bidding!
