Description

Sometimes it takes a while to see things as they really are. This is what has happened to me recently with my livebearer tank. I knew that it wasnt looking so good and felt that it had something to do with the plants, so I bought some lovely new Anubias on driftwood from that wonderful seller of plants Bayleesfishes (if you are browsing and bidding on plants at the moment, stop what you are doing and go check out his lots in the mixed lots section, if he has any auctions running you can be sure they will be for good stuff). Problem was that I couldnt fit the driftwood comfortably into the tank because of the overgrowth of java moss, so I started pulling out some of it out and sticking it into a 40 gallon cube. It was only then that I realized I STILL have well over a cubic foot of java moss. This has all grown since last July when I purchased one of those golf-ball sized pieces for $3.99 plus shipping. I use the java moss as a comfortable place for the red cherry shrimplets and livebearer fry to hide in, and removing it has also revealed that I have dozens of Montezuma Swordtails, countless Endlers and hundreds of shrimp in the tank too (I am selling some Monties in Livebearers, Wild type this week if you are interested). Doesnt seem worth selling the Endlers or shrimp. In fact if you win this auction and want some Endlers or Red Cherry Shrimp to go with it you can have them for free, just let me know. You can have both Endlers and Shrimp if that tickles your fancy. (Adding fish and shrimp will require a bigger box, you pay the shipping - $12 for a USPS medium priority mail box - and Ill send them along with pleasure.) I have split my java moss monster into three pieces. I will keep one and sell the other two for whatever I get for them and ship on Monday subject to your payment arriving. To give you an idea of the size you will receive I have photographed one of the pieces next to a familiar kitchen object. When given a shake to get the water out the pieces weigh about 3 to 4 oz each. There are a lot of pieces of java moss being sold on aquabid and described as golf ball size or two quarters. Im pretty sure that these will grow nicely to the size I have on offer in six months to a year (depending on your lighting), but if you want to start ahead of the game get one of my clumps - in the water they are not much shy of a bowling ball in size, and out of it they weigh about a quarter pound. Payments by paypal only to paul.emerson@emory.edu Add $3.50 as your contribution to shipping. If you want free Endlers, Shrimp, or both add $12 for the larger box. I just want space for my fish to swim, so the auction starts at just a $1 with no reserve
