Description

This auction lot is for a 6 x 6 fishbag full of Micro Bladderwort � a Utricularia species. I�m not sure which species it is as in all the years I�ve had it, unlike several other bladderworts that I�ve kept, it has never bloomed for me, or for anyone else who I have shared it with either indoors or outdoors. This beautiful and easy to grow bright green plant works well as a floating plant, where it forms nice, thick mats that fry absolutely love to hide in. It grows quickly and does well with medium light. It does seem to do best in soft, acid water and falls apart in hard, alkaline water. It does not require CO2 nor expensive supplements. The bladders are very tiny and I have used it as a spawning medium for several Anabantoid males to build their nests. Hoplos seem to like it as well. The bladders are too small to harm even tiny Trichogaster lalius fry. While an excellent for a breeding tank or for a specialist tank, I would not recommend it for an aquascaped tank as once it is in there, it will be almost impossible to remove if you ever change your mind.
