If Dr. Seuss had an aquarium, he would grow this plant. Elodea najas (Narrow-leaf anacharis / Egeria najas) is related to the common invasive anacharis but is a much more delicate looking and grows less aggressively (doesn't have any restrictions that I am aware of).
E. najas is an easy plant but appreciates a little extra light, it's not a low light plant. But if you can give it at least the low end of medium lighting it will do okay. E. najas will weakly root in the substrate but does well if left floating which also keeps it closer to your lighting.
All photos below are of the same 5G tank, you get all the stems in it, about 30. Most stems are around a foot long, a few are shorter, maybe 6" - 8".

I use this 5G as a holding tank and light it from the side with LED strips. It's great for seeing everything without any glare. Hornwort grows well with this kind of lighting but the E. najas sits lower in the water and I am having to rearrange it ALL.THE.TIME. to give it the light it requires. So it has to go. :(
This plant able to take carbon directly from the water (carbonate hardness, kH) if the dissolved CO2 is depleted. So while no plant will turn down supplemental CO2, it is able to keep growing late in the day even after the other plants run out of carbon dioxide. Because of this, E. najas benefits from frequent waterchanges to replenish the bicarbonate ions in the water.
E. najas is decent for fry cover with the advantage of floating just below the surface (sort of like guppy grass) so it doesn't really catch food particles which the fry cannot reach.
I haven't done tests on packing E. najas the way I have with hornwort. I will ship it the same way, better safe than sorry.

Term details are on my Just Me page which was updated August 24, 2014. Read it before bidding.
Payment is through PayPal only (you do not need an account, just a credit card), no e-checks. When paying with PayPal, you must use a shipping address, my account is configured to only accept PayPal Confirmed Addresses and I only ship to the address given in PayPal.
Priority Mail shipping is just postage for 2 pounds from 01888, $5.32 to $9.97. You can check that cost yourself at usps.com, it will be much faster than asking me for a quote, use the online price (Regional Rate Box A), not the post office price. I ship to PO Boxes if it's Confirmed Address.
I am not planning to use a heatpack or styrofoam so no shipping to locations with lows <25F or highs of >85F. There will be a shipping delay if local lows (airport) are below 25F.
Local pickup can be arranged at 462 Washington St Woburn MA 01801, weekdays, late afternoon.
Shipping will be delayed if extreme weather may endanger the shipment, ...it's a hobby not an organ transplant!
LAG for 24 stems for 3 days if >30F and <85F.
Some of my other auctions may be combined with this for savings on shipping costs.
