You are bidding on about 10 specimens, or a 6" x 6" area of Limnobium laevigatum, aka Amazon frogbit. S/h is another $6. This adds another nice dimension to a planted tank. Most of us are taller than our aquarium, and I have always believed an open tank with floating plants just gives you more aesthetic options. Also, the roots can reach a foot long in the right conditions, so every kind of underwater baby animal will like to hang around in there. One other minor point, this species is pretty forgiving about light and water chemistry, but I have noticed it is a bit happier in neutral to slightly acidic pH. Whenever I have noticed it coming over somewhat poorly, a pH over 7.5 was the cause. Also, its roots are a good barometer of nitrogen. Excessive nitrates/ammonium will cause weaker roots. Long, feathery, luxuriant roots mean you're keeping up with the water changes and all is good.
