Description

Click the thumbnails to see some of the "cheapo" lighting I use in the fish room.

Hello folks!
This auction is for about 3 20 longs FULL of duckweed.
You can use this stuff to shade your tanks, help prevent evaporation, help prevent your fish from JUMPING out of uncovered tanks, feed it to turtles, goldfish, crayfish, etc. (Angelfish eat it!), or just to help pull nutrients out of your water. It's also GREAT for breeding bubble nest builders AND hiding fry. I have TOO MUCH of it and instead of throwing it in my mulch pile I would be more than happy to send it to someone who can put it to good use.
This duckweed WILL contain snails AND at least some Hornwort.
One reason it always does well in my fish room is due to the fact I use a lot of BRIGHT lights over my tanks. Bright lights do NOT necessarily have to be EXPENSIVE lights and for those of you who would much rather spend your money on PLANTS and FISH instead of expensive aquarium lighting I would recommend you click the thumbnails at the top of this auction to see the type of INTENSE lighting I use over some of my tanks down in the fish room.
NONE of those fixtures and bulbs you can see in those thumbnails cost me much more than 4 or 5 bucks and ALL those fixtures and bulbs throw a minimum of about 60 watts of BRIGHT light over my tanks. That double clear incandescent light you can see above throws 200 WATTS of BLINDING light over one of my 20 longs and I can almost WATCH the plants growing in that tank! The entire fixture INCLUDING bulbs cost me less than 10 bucks. Try pricing 200 watts of lighting at your local fish store and you will be looking at spending WELL OVER 250 bucks. 250 bucks buys a LOT of nice fish and plants!
My point here is you do NOT have to be RICH to have WELL LIT tanks that plants WILL grow in. You just have to be SMART.
