Description

This auction lot is for a 3 x 12 fish bag full of bladderwort � Utricularia sp. That�s a little over 4 oz (113 grams) after the water is shaken out, or enough to nearly completely fill a 5 gallon tank! This light green tangled matting plant is great for bubblenesting anabantoids to build their nests under, and its tangled stems make an excellent place for fry to hide. I use it in many spawning tanks for that purpose. The bladders are tiny and haven�t harmed any fry, even the smallest anabantoids. I would not recommend this plant for planted tanks as it can become invasive and difficult to eradicate if you want to do that. But for breeding fish, it has been a wonderful addition to my collection of aquatic plants.

For those of you who want to know what species of bladderwort this is, I can�t say for sure.
