Description

These days, I run a small, densely planted tank, but I hate throwing away healthy material when I prune. This time, I plan on replanting the whole tank; so that means lots of cuttings, runners, or clumps of rooted growth for some lucky auction winner!

You will receive some of:

Rotala macandra var "Magenta"
A smaller-leafed cousin of Rotala macandra that sports just as crimson a shade of red as macandra. You must provide plenty of iron and high light in order to achieve this color, but a think stand of this beauty is tough to mimic and this red stem plant suits smaller aquascapes because of its leaf shape and size.

Rotala macandra var 'Green'
An easy, beautiful plant that has thin, red stems and a beautiful coral-green-to-orange gradient hue in the leaves when grown in high light and CO2. It looks amazing in tight bunches and grows faster than the average stem variety. This plants unique coloration makes it a nice addition to your aquascape.

Microcarpaea minima
This tiny and simple stem plant throws alternating pairs of thin, light green leaves that form a soft stand. Although it is not demanding, it does best with CO2 and high light, where it quickly spreads via runners. Perfect as a filler for the middle ground in large aquascapes or as a background stem plant in nano tanks.

Rotala rotundifolia
A mainstay of many hobbyists' collections, this old-time favorite is hard to match in terms of its growth rate, leaf shape and pink-orange coloration when grown in high light and CO2. In these ideal conditions, the stems and leaves from bottom to top, start yellow and progress to orange to pink at the growth tips. However, it will tolerate and adapt to lower lighting conditions without CO2. Easy to see why this adaptive classic will stay with us for the long haul.

Rotala walichii
A thin-leafed version of rotundifolia that produces soft fronds and a good contrast to wider leafed stem plants; growth and demands typical of other rotalas.

Micranthemum micranthemoides (Pearl Grass)
One of the original middle-ground growers that is still very popular today. Easily distinguished by its small leaves that grow three per internode, this fast medium grower provides a soft, light-green touch to the middle ground in any sized tank. Once it has taken root, it spreads very quickly over the substrate and even grows aggressively upward.

Glossostigma elatinoides
The original low-growing foreground plant that is still the fastest, densest option for creating a carpet or lawn effect. Fast growing by runners.

Hemianthus callitroides
With leaves that measure only 2-3mm in length, this is one of the tiniest stem plants in the world. While it grows slowly, it does not require additional CO2 or extremely high light. A little patience results in a thick, matted growth of medium-green leaves that resemble low-lying brush in the foreground of the smallest aquascapes.

Echinodorus tenellus 'Microleaf'
Just like the original E. tenellus, but these leaves remain much smaller and thinner and even develop a red tint when grown in high lighting.

If the highest bid goes over $20, I'll throw in a clump of Staurogyne .sp to round out the sink special.

Please add $5 shipping and handling via USPS Priority; Paypal only please due within a day of auction close.
I have no snails (pond, ramshorn, trumpet snails, etc.) in my tank; so introduce with confidence!

Feel free to ask me any questions, and good luck bidding!!!
