Added by the Seller on Tue Oct 19 14:53:59 2010:Oh, I should probably add an explanation. This hornwort is a super fast growing plant. Every month or so I rip it out of my 55 gallon tank and take a big bucket to my local fish club meeting. Well, this month I had to miss the meeting because of a choir concert, and now I've got this giant bucket of this awesome plant with no home to go to. This plant grows really quickly and soaks up all of the nitrates, and has twice the surface area of most other plants which means it's a great fry protector. The baby fish hide in it and find tiny organisms to eat. Best of all, this plant is versatile. You can let it float, you can weigh it down to the bottom, you can even wrap it around tree branches or a square frame of PVC tube. This plant doesn't care what you do to it, it'll grow. This is enough plant to stock a 50 or even 100 gallon tank, but it could also be compressed down to stock a 30 gallon tank. This plant doesn't mind being compressed a little bit. It'll also fan out and fill all the space you give it. Hornwort is by far my favorite plant, and I love growing it. It's hardy, it doesn't make any demands on you like CO2 fertilization. It's rootless, so it doesn't care whether or not you buy that really expensive fertilized substrate. And it's got a really high surface area, so it's great for breeder tanks for tiny fish to hide in. I love it, and I'm sure you will, too.
