Description

Moderate Light Plant Mix

You are bidding on an assortment of plants for any medium (or higher) lighting tank. That means 2+ wpg is ideal for these guys, though with some you may be able to fudge it with a little less). CO2 supplementation and heavy fertilization aren't strictly necessary, but you'll see much better growth if you add them. For the sake of full disclosure, it's possible you'll get some hitchhiker snails on the submersed-grown plants.

I'm offering the following package to start with, starting at one dollar with no reserve, but if this auction goes over $20 (which it's easily worth), I'll start throwing in EXTRAS (new and/or duplicate species) to make it worth your money and then some. I have tons of plants to offer, so don't fear bidding it up high to get more plants than anyone reasonably knows what to do with :) If it goes over $35, I'll even ship for free.

If the auction stays under $35, shipping will be a flat $10 via USPS Priority mail to anywhere in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico). No international buyers, please. Live arrival guaranteed if you don't let the box cook outside all day before you bring it in. In case of significant DOAs (I do put in extras just in case a few pieces melt), email me photos the same day the plants arrive and I'll do a resend on my dime or partial refund if I don't have the extras. If you're worried about my limited feedback, check out my profiles on PlantedTank.Net and AquaticPlantCentral.com - I've had plenty of happy buyers for my plants.

Please paypal the winning bid with shipping to wengera@sacredheart.edu by the Sunday evening following the auction if you would like me to ship it the following Monday. I like to ship on Mondays so that the plants don't get stuck in the mail over a weekend and so I only have to make 1 trip to the post office each week, but if you desperately need me to make arrangements to ship a different day, email me and we can work something out.

So, to start, here's the plants I guarantee you'll be getting (with some photos below):

24+ stems (3 bunches' worth) Ludwigia palustris
One of my favorite stem plants, this is a wonderful alternative to the more common Ludwigia repens. It likes slightly better lighting than L. repens, but is still far less demanding and finicky than others of its genus. Under high lighting it picks up beautiful, solid red hues, but even in moderate lighting it will display veins and undersides to its leaves.

24+ stems (3 bunches' worth) Golden Creeping Jenny - Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea'
This is also a popular terrestrial plant, which is why I grow most of mine in my outdoor garden. It's a great nitrate indicator in the aquarium, though, where it thrives in tanks with a heavy fish load. Offers great contrast to other stem plants due to its intense lime green to lemon yellow foliage. Prohibited in Massachusetts, MA buyers will get another species substituted.

10 stems (large bunch) Lindernia rotundifolia
Another nice stem plant. This looks good as a midground bush or, in nano tanks, as a background plant. The leaves are round and a medium green in color - I may include stems of the variegated version of this plant, which has lighter streaks along the veins of its leaves, making them look like little mini watermelons. These stems will be appx. 3" in height.

10 plantlets of Amazon Frogbit - Limnobium laevigatum
This is a nice little floating plant that provides cover for the fish and a shady area for any low-light plants to grow under. Prohibited in California, CA buyers will get another floating plant substituted.

15+ stems Baby Tears - Micranthemum umbrosum
These are short stems (~2") to start a foreground carpet.
