Description

Up for auction is an unsexed group of six Bluefin Killifish - Lucania goodei. They are native to my area of Florida and are mostly F1 generation fish from wild caught adults. I keep mine in a permanent setup Florida biotope tank. The fish are juvenile to sub-adult size and range from 1-2" long. Males develop both the bright blue dorsal and anal fins and deep red on their caudle fins during the summer months. They're outgoing fish, not overly aggressive and besides minor flaring from the males, leave conspecifics and non-conspecific fish alone including their own fry. They're shoaling fish and like each other's company in the tank. They're perfect for keeping the mosquito populations down in container ponds and don't need a heater if kept indoors. I've kept them in every size tank from five gallons and up. I feed my fish a varied diet including fresh, frozen, flake and freeze-dried depending on what's available to me. They should readily accept most things and I haven't found them to be picky eaters at all. They can stand temperatures from the upper 50's f. to the low 90's f.. These killies condition well for breeding when fed supplemental grindal worm and daphnia. My pH is generally around 8.2 when I test and runs between 400-440 ppm TDS (hard water). They do just fine in softer, more acidic waters too. As these fish are sub-adults, I cannot guarantee their sex. I'm selling them as a group in the hopes that the auction winner will get at least a statistically good chance at ONE pair of male/female. Your fish will be bagged in breathable-style bags and be shipped to you in an insulated medium sized box using USPS 2-3 day priority mail. Don't be alarmed if the bags have no airspace in them, as the bags I use are designed to gas exchange oxygen and CO2 through direct contact with water. Shipping and Handling is fixed at $20.00. I guarantee that your fish will arrive alive. In case of DOA fish, you'll receive a refund on the price of the fish only. This guarantee does not apply to shipping and handling charges. Please submit a digital photo of the dead fish unopened in the original packaging within 1 hour of delivery on the day of arrival provides credit for refund. We accept paypal. Paypal.com charges a 3% transaction fee to process payments. This fee will be added to your final amount.
