These are small individuals, around an inch, give or take. Blue Spotted Sunfish are small predators that do best on meaty foods. They like planted tanks, with small schools of swimming fish above them, like Heterandria formosa. If given these conditions they will lose their shyness and become quite bold and spunky, especially at feeding time. I am feeding these small live foods. As they grow and become more accustomed to your aquarium they will eat small frozen foods and even small pellets in some cases. Being a predator, they will appreciate live food. These smaller individuals adapt very nicely to captivity, they aren't as skittish as their larger counterparts, they are a peaceful fish that will be a real gem in your native aquarium. A very pleasant fish. These fish are healthy, eating, and thriving. It will be up to YOU to provide them with conditions to guarantee that they continue to do so.
