This auction is for (1) fish @ 2". Redfin pickerel have nice markings, stay small (>12"), can tolerate extreme hypoxia & have a calmer temperment, an all around perfect aquarium specimen. During feeding they strike like lightning, faster than the human eye & mind can comprehend. This is the Okefenokee strain, the origin of the species, once adult, it breeds true with deep red fins and has not hybridized with chain pickerel as it has in most of it's range. The actual fish in this auction is about 2", they seem to travel better at this size and they acclimate better. Eating aggressively on guppies, live grass shrimp, small crawfish and can be trained on frozen foods such as frozen krill or other meaty foods, beef heart etc.. Always use caution when using feeder fish, they can transmit diseases and parasites to your predator, even if they appear healthy.

This is an advanced aquarist species and there are things you will need to know: Keep a lid, they jump out. (well planted tank with plenty of cover, logs, PVC pipes, works best.) They require food every other day. For best growth feed once daily.

For your convenience this pickerel has been pre-quarantined in my lab and treated with metro, prazi & kanamycin to prevent parasite, protozoan & bacterial transmission to your aquatic system. F1's are here!

Have your set-up ready for when the fish arrives, don't wait for the last minute. This pickerel will have food withheld to prevent defecation during transit. The fish will be shipped in pure oxygen. I suggest you call your local post office and tell them to "hold" all your packages on the expected delivery date if you are not going to be home during the delivery attempt. This will prevent the fish from bouncing around in a mail truck all day for nothing.

Allow the pickerel at least 12 hours to acclimate to the new tank before attempt feeding, unless multiple specimens are housed. If multiple specimens are housed keep them well fed to prevent cannibalism or aggression among fish of contrasting sizes. If you notice discoloration, abrasions or torn fins, it is likely that aggression is occurring and it should serve as an indication that the pickerel are not being fed properly. A barebottom 10gal tank will house the pickerel for now but will eventually need at least a 55long for long term health. Water parameters seem irrelevant, they seem to adjust between hard and soft water without a transitional period. I keep mine in slightly hard water. Water flow:This fish prefers mild unidirectional current. No salinity. This fish can survive water temps down to 33� but ideally 65�-74� for healthiest growth.

The addition of fish to your order may or may not result in an increase in shipping costs, depending on the type of fish added to the order, feel free to ask if adding fish to your order will increase your shipping costs or not.

Unless otherwise posted, fish are sold as varied size & of varied gender & no promised size or gender. Once the minimum promised amount of fish arrive alive, my obligation will have been met and i will consider the sale a success. In the extremely unlikely event the amount of DoA's exceed the amount of freebies, the cost of the DOA fish may be prorated and refunded, especially if the buyer declines to pay for a reship, just email me a mandatory photo of the DOA's for my records. I do not guarantee or promise the size of fish, gender of fish, or time frame delivery of fish, unless specifically otherwise posted. Although I usually prefer to process orders quickly, I reserve the right to ship fish up to 7 days after payment has been made and up to 14 days during weeks in the vicinity of a major holiday, inclement weather, natural disaster, or acts of terrorism.

24hrs prior to shipment, fish are withheld food to reduce in-transit ammonia levels. Fish are shipped via USPS Priority mail with medical grade oxygen, clean water and cushioned with impact absorbing insulation. Spiny and/or large fish will have the bag wrapped in duct tape as to prevent puncture and subsequent leakage. I usually ship on a Saturday for a Monday arrival to minimize transit time & shipping stress to the fish. It is a common misconception that mail does not travel on Sunday, when in actuality it travels faster than a weekday because new packages are not being accepted. If I decide to ship your fish during a weekday, you will receive 48hrs advance notice via USPS's email tracking alert system, so please be ready to make yourself available to receive the fish. Requests to have your fish arrive on a Saturday will always be denied due to it's proximity to Sunday. Requests to have your fish arrive on a certain day will be taken into mild consideration, but never guaranteed.

Once your fish are shipped you will receive email tracking alerts, these alerts are usually the only form of post-payment communication you will receive from me, unless you contact me for verification of payment or verification of shipping status. By default, these USPS tracking alerts are usually sent to your email address listed with paypal or aquabid, not a seconday email account. You are most likely to begin to receive email tracking alerts on Saturday afternoon or Sunday. Please make sure your home address listed with paypal is correct & complete (i.e street, drive, Ave). Also please make sure your home address with paypal matches the home address listed with Aquabid, if it does not match your shipment could be delayed by as much as a week or even misdirected. If the package is misdirected or delayed due to the customer providing an incorrect or conflicting delivery address, I will accept zero financial responsibility and you will have to hunt down your own package. In other words, I will turn my back on you for not having all your ducks in a row, whilst expecting me to.

For the sake of expediency, some commonly asked questions that have already been answered elsewhere on the auction page may be answered with the relevant information underlined in red, please do not take this as an indication of rudeness but rather as an answer to your original question & a reminder to read the auction to the fullest extent.

BY DEFAULT I ALWAYS SHIP TO THE ADDRESS LISTED WITH PAYPAL, unless a specific request has been acknowledged by me, via email, to ship to a location other than the address listed with paypal. If you have 2 different email addresses, monitor both until your fish arrive. Shipping costs are never refunded under any circumstances. Items lost in transit, i.e dormant tracking number, the fish will be replaced free of charge but the buyer must pay to re-ship the item.

If for some reason you have trouble contacting me, check your spam folder, check your other email addresses, or contact me thru the aquabid messaging system. For immeadiate assistance, or for help placing a large order, my phone number is listed on my "about me" page. Do not order fish before going on vacation. I reserve the right to cancel the sale and issue a refund to customers whom I consider to have difficulty conducting business civally and/or are Verbally abusive via email, i am a fish person, not a people person, but i am doing my best=) I do not ship fish during or in the vicinity of weeks that contain a holiday. I do not ship fish during or in the vicinity of weeks expected to have a heavy mailstream. I ship fish according to the fishes best interest and there may be times that patience on your part may be required in order for the fish to have a 100% successful voyage.
