Up for auction are 8 Pygmy Sunfish, Elassoma okefenokee. These will be young adult breeding size. I will make sure you have both sexes in this group. The pictures below are representative of the fish you will receive. The top picture shows a pair, the male is in regular coloration which he typically shows once acclimated and happy in an environment that he likes. The bottom picture shows a male in full breeding colors. It will be up to you to privide these fish with the live foods and environment that are conducive to them. These fish require live foods. I am feeding these live baby brine shrimp. Do not bid on these fish unless you are well versed in providing small live foods. These fish do better in small, species dedicated aquariums, planted, with rocks and small pieces of driftwood. Bare tanks do not suit them. They do better in tanks with mild to little water movement. They do not do well with fish that compete for food with them. These are an awesome fish to keep. They are very easy to keep and breed if you provide them with a few simple needs. Live foods are a must. If you have not hatched brine shrimp before, here is a website that I made to show beginners how to do it. www.hatchingbrineshrimp.weebly.com . Despite what some naysayers cry, newly hatched brine shrimp provide more proteins and necessary fatty acids to small fish than any other live food. It is a tried and true food that the fish farms in Florida have been using since the farms have existed and they use them for good reason. Hatching them is easy, there is no need to maintain messy cultures, you hatch what you need, and your fish will benefit greatly from them. These fish are healthy, eating, and thriving. It will be up to YOU to provide them with conditions to guarantee that they continue to do so.
