Up for auction are 3 Pairs of Fundulus chrysotus, the Golden Eared Killifish. The picture pretty much shows why. These will be wild caught pairs that are doing great in captivity, eating, and showing nice colors. The males have lots of red on them. These fish are a robust, easy to care for killifish found in most waters around Florida. These fish were collected in pure fresh water and there is no reason to add salt to their tank. These fish are excellent jumpers, so keep your fish tank covered. Fundulus chrysotus do best if fed with live foods. However, once acclimated these fish will eat anything that hits the water. They are not demanding, they can thrive in most water conditions as long as extremes are avoided. I find them in soft water as well as very hard water. They adapt to city water with no problems whatsoever. These are an easy killifish to breed, you can use mops or heavy clumps of plants such as Java Moss. The young are hardy and grow relatively fast. They make a great fish for your outdoor tub or pool and will proliferate in them. At the end of the season you can sell your young fish to stores or sell them here on Aquabid. Or, you can share them with fellow aquarists in your fish club. If you are looking for a bullet proof, easy to keep, flashy native fish, these fish are for you. These fish are healthy, eating, and thriving. It will be up to YOU to provide them with conditions to guarantee that they continue to do so.
