FREE SHIPPING. Up for auction is one trio, ( 1 male and 2 females ) of spotted (melanistic) Fundulus chrysotus. This is a beautiful trio, the male is pictured. The two females have lots of black on them. The male, has lots of orange. These are from a new collecting location and true to form, every collecting area where these melanistic fish occur, they all have unique characteristics. The dorsal fins on the males of this population are strikingly long and pointed as the picture shows. Very nice!. These fish are adults and are ready to breed. These fish are very easy to breed, they will spawn in mops or bunches of plants like java moss, the fry are very hardy, grow quickly, and there is no reason you shouldn't be able to produce many fish from this pair. These fish are being fed live foods, but like other Fundulus chrysotus, once acclimated to your tank, they will devour just about any foods that hit the water. They will do best if fed small live foods and frozen treats. The fish are healthy, colorful, eating, and thriving. It will be up to YOU to provide them with conditions to guarantee that they continue to do so.
