Up for auction are twelve juvenile Fundulus chrysotus, the Golden Ear Killie. These juveniles are small, colorful, unsexed, but you should have several pairs once they grow out. Given a good diet and a healthy aquarium they should grow out rapidly to adult breeding size in several months. These young fish will exhibit the gold spots common in juveniles and females and the males will develop red as they grow out. The picture is representative of the adult males, lots of red and the distinctive gold spot on the gill, hence the name.

These young fish come from a colony that has many black spotted or melanistic fish. The black spots develop as the fish get older and you may or may not see these develop in your group.

The are a robust fish, tough as nails, a great killifish. They are super easy to breed, and the young are very attractive with their gold spots all over the body. These fish will eat anything once settled in, live, frozen, or prepared foods are eaten. I feed mine live foods but once they are settled in will come up and eat anything out of your fingers.

The fish are healthy, colorful, eating, and thriving. It will be up to you to provide them with conditions to guarantee that they continue to do so.

I am available to answer any questions about these fish or this auction, do not bid if you are unsure about anything. Please do your research. Thank you.
