Description

3 pair (confirmed 3 males, 3 females) *Cyprinella lutrensis*/red shiner. NOTE: RED SHINERS ARE PROHIBITED IN (at least) GEORGIA, WISCONSIN, AND ARIZONA DUE TO INVASIVE SPECIES LAWS. I WILL NOT SHIP TO THESE STATES. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCAL LAWS REGARDING THIS SPECIES. DO NOT RELEASE THESE OR ANY OTHER LOCALLY EXOTIC FISHES!!! Red shiners, although beautiful, are very competitive and hardy, but most of all, they have been known to hybridize with rare, local/endemic Cyprinella and Notropis. Red shiners do well in outdoor ponds, where they help to control mosquitoes, other unwanted invertebrates, and algae, and a school of them among koi is a beautiful sight! Keeping them with fancy goldfish, however, is not recommended. They are generally peaceful, but can develop a bit of an attitude and are fast. They also do well in aquaria, with or without heaters, and tolerate extreme temperature changes, temps from 40F to 90F, pH from 4 to 11, low oxygen to high, and varying salinities. (To get the best out of the males' breeding colors, a cool period/winter is recommended.) They readily accept prepared foods. These offered have been kept for several months and are healthy. At least one of the males offered (in the photograph) currently has breeding tubercles. *** >>>>> Terms and conditions <<<<< >>1) Due to current weather conditions, "Extras" are NOT included to compensate for possible losses, a common courtesy I would like to extend but can't at this time; >>2) Please photograph unopened bags, with date stamp or as soon as possible, clearly showing condition of contents and email photos immediately upon receipt, regardless of condition. Photos are required for credit; >>3) Guaranteed live delivery + 24 hours. Credit will be applied only via PayPal, a PayPal account is therefore required to receive credit for losses; >>4) Guarantee void upon transfer to another party; >>5) Shipping and material costs are not included and are the responsibility of the buyer. All orders are prepaid and will include a $15 s/h fee, the difference of actual costs for s/h will either be refunded or billed via PayPal, as applicable. Larger orders may require higher shipping costs; >>6) Buyer agrees not to release unwanted specimens into the wild; >>7) BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCAL LAWS REGARDING INVASIVE SPECIES (SEE DESCRIPTION ABOVE); >>8) PLEASE check my other auctions or email me via aquabid.com if you would like to purchase additional items to reduce shipping costs.
